Men's Health Clinic · Rawang, Selangor

Erection problems deserve a diagnosis, not a guess.

Before any treatment is offered, Vivardi Clinics runs a structured, doctor-led assessment to find out why it is happening. Some men leave with a procedure plan. Some leave with a blood test and a medication review. Both are a good outcome.

Why it is worth checking early

Most men wait years before asking anyone.

The story is usually the same. It started gradually, it was put down to stress or age, and there was always a reason to leave it another few months. By the time the appointment gets booked, it has often been going on a long while.

That delay matters for a practical reason. The penis runs on small blood vessels, and small vessels are frequently where a circulation problem shows itself first — sometimes before anything is noticed in the heart. For a proportion of men, difficulty with erections is the earliest physical clue that blood pressure, cholesterol or blood sugar needs attention.

So an assessment here is not only about erections. It looks at the circulation, the hormones and the medication list together, so nothing important gets missed while all the attention is on one symptom.

What actually happens

Your first visit, step by step

No gown, no equipment, and no procedure on day one unless you and the doctor agree it is appropriate. Here is the honest sequence.

  1. You arrive and check in quietly 2 minutes

Reception takes your name and IC. Nothing about why you are here is discussed at the counter, and you wait in the general waiting area — there is no separate door to be seen walking through.

  2. A structured conversation with the doctor 20–30 minutes

When it began, whether it happens every time or only in some situations, morning erections, sleep, energy, stress and relationship context — then a full run-through of every medication and supplement you take. Some blood pressure medicines, antidepressants and hair-loss tablets are known contributors, and they are easy to miss unless somebody asks properly.

  3. Focused examination and basic measurements 5–10 minutes

Blood pressure, weight and waist, a focused physical examination, and a discussion of whether blood tests are worth doing. You are told what is being checked and why before anything is done, and you may decline any part of it.

  4. Findings first, options second 10 minutes

The doctor explains what the likely drivers appear to be. Only then does the conversation move to what could help, what a realistic expectation looks like, and what it would cost. If the right next step is a blood test, a medication change or a referral rather than a procedure, that is what you will be told.

The five areas checked

An erection is a circulation event with a lot of inputs

Which is why one pill for everybody so often disappoints. The assessment works through these five areas before any option is put on the table.

Blood flow

Blood pressure, cholesterol and vessel health — the most common physical driver, and the one with the widest knock-on effects elsewhere.

Hormones

Testosterone is one possible contributor among several — not the automatic answer, and worth measuring rather than assuming.

Medication

Several commonly prescribed drugs affect erections. A review sometimes resolves the problem without adding anything new at all.

Metabolic health

Blood sugar, weight, sleep and alcohol. Diabetes in particular affects both the vessels and the nerves involved, over time.

Mind and context

Performance anxiety, work stress and relationship strain are genuine physiological factors here, not a polite way of dismissing the problem.

30-second self-check

If treatment is appropriate

Options your doctor may discuss with you

These are the clinic-based options available at Vivardi, alongside prescription medicine where it is suitable. None of them is right for every man, and suitability is decided at assessment — not from an advertisement.

Low-intensity shockwave therapy being delivered at Vivardi Clinics
Device-based

Low-intensity shockwave (ESWT)

Acoustic pulses delivered through the skin over a course of short sessions. No needles, no anaesthetic, and you drive yourself home afterwards. Most men describe the sensation as light tapping.

Usually considered for: men whose assessment points to a blood-flow cause, with mild to moderate difficulty.

Platelet-rich plasma preparation for the P-Shot at Vivardi Clinics
Uses your own blood

P-Shot (platelet-rich plasma)

A small blood sample is drawn, spun to concentrate the platelet portion, then injected under local anaesthetic. Because the material comes from you, no donor product is involved.

Be aware: published studies are small, and international guidelines do not yet recommend PRP as routine care. You will be told that before you decide.

Ask about the P-Shot
Exosome therapy preparation at Vivardi Clinics
Investigational

Exosome therapy

An emerging regenerative approach in which the source and quality of the product matters a great deal. It is discussed openly, including the parts that are still unknown.

Be aware: this remains investigational. Any clinic promising a guaranteed or permanent cure with exosomes is overstating the evidence.

Discuss exosome therapy
Medical vacuum erection device provided at Vivardi Clinics
Drug-free device

Vacuum erection device

A medical-grade pump used at home that draws blood into the penis mechanically. Reusable, no medication involved, and often the practical choice for men who cannot take tablets.

Usually considered for: men taking nitrates, those who prefer to avoid medication, or as support alongside another treatment.

Ask about the pump

Results differ between individuals and no outcome can be guaranteed. Risks, expected benefit and alternatives are explained to you in person before you consent to anything.

Diabetes-related erectile difficulty assessed at Vivardi Clinics, Rawang

Diabetes · Kencing manis

If you are diabetic, this is a different conversation

Long-standing high blood sugar affects both the small vessels and the nerves involved in an erection. That is why men with diabetes tend to develop difficulty earlier, and why they often respond differently to standard treatment.

It does not mean nothing can be done. It means the plan has to include glucose control and cardiovascular risk, and that expectations need to be set honestly at the start — not after you have already paid for a course of something.

If you have been diabetic for several years, bring your most recent HbA1c result and your medication list to the first visit. It changes what the doctor can usefully tell you on the day.

How your privacy is handled here

This is the part most men want answered before they make contact, so here it is plainly.

Your first message can say very little

"I'd like to book a men's health appointment" is enough. You do not have to describe the problem over WhatsApp to get a slot.

Nothing is discussed at reception

The front desk handles your name, your appointment time and payment. Clinical details stay inside the consultation room.

Records stay with the clinic

Your notes are not shared with an employer, an insurer or a family member without your written consent.

You are not added to a marketing list

Enquiring once does not sign you up to promotional broadcasts.

Before you book

Questions men actually ask us first

Do I have to explain everything over WhatsApp before I get an appointment?

No. A one-line message asking for a men's health appointment is enough to get a slot. The clinical conversation happens in the room with the doctor, not on your phone.

How long should I set aside for the first visit?

Plan for about 45 minutes to an hour including waiting time. If blood tests are agreed on the day, add a few minutes for the draw. Results are then discussed at a follow-up.

Will anything be done to me on the first visit?

Only a focused examination and basic measurements such as blood pressure, and only with your agreement. Procedures are not performed before the assessment is complete and the options have been explained to you.

Do I need to stop my current medication before coming?

No, and please do not stop anything on your own. Bring the actual boxes, or a photo of them. Reviewing what you already take is part of the assessment, and any change is a decision made with the doctor.

What if the cause turns out to be psychological?

That is a real finding, not a brush-off, and it is common in younger men. The plan then focuses on the contributing factors and, where appropriate, onward referral. It does not mean the visit was wasted.

Should I bring my wife or partner?

Entirely your choice. Many men attend alone. Others find the explanation easier to absorb with a partner present. Both are completely normal here.

How soon would I know whether something is working?

It depends which route you take. A medication change is judged over weeks; a course of sessions is reviewed after the course rather than after a single appointment. The doctor will set a specific review point so you are not left guessing.

What if I am not suitable for any of the procedures?

Then you will be told so clearly. Sometimes the useful outcome is a blood test, a medication adjustment, or a referral to another specialty. We would rather say no than sell you something with little chance of helping.

What does it cost?

The consultation is charged as a standard private clinic consultation. Treatment cost depends entirely on what turns out to be appropriate for you, so it is quoted in person once the doctor knows what is being recommended. There is no fixed package advertised, and you are never asked to commit on the spot.

Is there anything I should treat as an emergency?

Yes. Seek immediate hospital care for chest pain, sudden weakness or difficulty speaking, a significant injury to the area, or an erection lasting four hours or longer. Do not wait for a clinic appointment for any of those.
